Ms. Kaufman, a graduate of the University of Florida College of Law and Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana, has over 30 years of experience practicing trademark, copyright, and unfair competition law, including e-commerce matters. She has worked for the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office; for Ralston Purina Company and Borden, Inc., both Fortune 500 companies, as in-house counsel; and in private law firms, both large and small.

Ms. Kaufman’s practice encompasses trademark and copyright counseling, searching, clearance, and registration both in the United States and internationally. She handles litigation relating to intellectual property matters before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and in the federal courts. Ms. Kaufman also handles issues relating to the Internet such as domain name registrations and disputes.

She is admitted to practice before the Federal District Courts of the District of Columbia and the Middle District of Florida and before the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

A member of the bars of the states of Virginia, Florida and Missouri as well as the District of Columbia, Ms. Kaufman has been an active member of the Florida Bar Intellectual Property Law Committee and the Franchise Committee. She has served on several committees of the International Trademark Association (INTA). Ms. Kaufman taught a trademark course to paralegals at Santa Clara University and lectures on trademark and copyright law.

Ms. Kaufman drafts and negotiates license and franchise agreements and other contracts related to intellectual property matters.
